ToxIC Novel Opioid and Stimulant Exposures (NOSE)

About the Project

ToxIC has developed an enhanced sentinel event detection instrument to identify novel opioids and psychostimulants encountered by medical toxicology physicians during patient consultations and toxicology evaluations.

The ToxIC Novel Opioid and Stimulant Exposure (NOSE) project is four-year project that has been deployed as an addition to the ToxIC Core Registry to highlight cases involving emerging exposures reported from approximately 35 sites across the United States.

As part of this project, quarterly reports are released to highlight a recent case or topic and provides enhanced reporting to ACMT members and the Opioid Response Network (ORN).
