Abstract Criteria
Submit Your Abstract


We encourage you to showcase your research and advance the field of Medical Toxicology at the 2025 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting on April 4-6 at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, Canada! This will be a fully in-person meeting, with no virtual option.

The ACMT Research Committee welcomes all types of original research of interest to medical toxicologists and their patients. Our goal is to enrich the attendee experience by offering presentations that share the latest science and clinical practices from the front lines of medical toxicology.

There are four ways to present:

  • Platform presentations 
  • Lightning oral presentations
  • Moderated poster forums
  • Poster-only sessions

ACMT will accept abstracts from September 1 – November 15, 2024. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. All authors will be notified via email in mid-December. If your proposal is accepted, you will be expected to register and attend the meeting in-person.

MTF Travel Awards for Abstract Presenters

The Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF) is offering a limited number of travel awards to medical students, residents, and international authors whose abstracts have been selected for presentation at the 2025 ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting. The award will provide registration for the conference and fund reimbursement to support travel and lodging. Please note that the awarded amount may not cover the entire cost of travel.

To be considered for an award, submitting authors must express their interest during the abstract submission process by indicating their desire for consideration. The deadline for both awards is November 15, 2024.

MTF Medical Student & Resident Travel Award
Award Value: $500

Award Eligibility

To be eligible for the award, the candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Be a current Medical Student or Resident
  2. Serve as the presenting author for an #ACMT2025 accepted abstract
Submission

To be considered for an award, submitting authors must express their interest during the abstract submission process by indicating their desire for consideration.

Judgment

The awards will be granted based on the following criteria:

  • Abstract Score & Presentation Type: Priority will be given to Platform presentations, followed by Lightning Oral presentations, Moderated Posters, and Posters.
  • Financial Need: Candidates who do not receive institutional support for conference travel will be given preference.

MTF International Travel Award
Award Value: $750

Award Eligibility

To be eligible for the award, the candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Be currently residing in an international country
  2. Serve as the presenting author for an #ACMT2025 accepted abstract
Submission

To be considered for an award, submitting authors must express their interest during the abstract submission process by indicating their desire for consideration.

Judgment

The awards will be granted based on the following criteria:

  • Abstract Score & Presentation Type: Priority will be given to Platform presentations, followed by Lightning Oral presentations, Moderated Posters, and Posters.
  • Country of Origin: Priority will be given to candidates from low to mid-income countries.
