The American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry Awards Grant to ToxIC to Expand Reporting of Novel Drugs of Abuse
The ToxIC network continues to mature in its work on toxicosurveillance. Last year, ToxIC partnered with the NIH National Drug Early Warning System (NDEWS) program to create educational briefs describing outbreaks of novel drugs of abuse. The efforts in flagging novel cases in the Registry helped make that project successful.
ToxIC is excited to announce a new grant to partner with the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) and its Opioid Response Network (ORN) to learn more about novel opioid and stimulant cases identified through ToxIC over the next two years.
Meghan Spyres, MD is leading this project and will coordinate quarterly briefings describing these novel cases to disseminate this important information to ACMT members, and the ORN and their partners.
