Timothy Wiegand, MD, FACMT MTF Board Secretary/Treasurer
Biography
Dr. Wiegand is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) and also a volunteer faculty member of the SUNY Upstate Medical Toxicology Fellowship program. Dr. Wiegand's research interests include billing, reimbursement and effectiveness of Medical Toxicology practice models, warning signs for suicide attempt in particular the use and involvement of alcohol or drugs in a suicide attempt and he is involved with wide variety of surveillance and research projects involving the Bedside Toxicology Registry and the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) Toxic Case Registry. He is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF) Board of Directors.
Education
Tim Wiegand MD, DABAM, FACMT, FAACT attended Iowa State University and graduated with Honors and Distinction in 1995. He received his MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin in 2004. Dr. Wiegand completed a categorical Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota and completed fellowship training in Medical Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Dr. Wiegand also became Board Certified in Addiction Medicine in 2015.
